Dave “Jake” Jacobson: Owner/Operator

Dave founded Woodchuck Tree Service in the summer of 1976.  Anyone who’s met “Jake” knows that he absolutely loves what he does for a living.  You can always expect to see him show up at your front door with a warm smile and an open mind.  His most important objective over the years is to make sure that the job isn’t complete until the client’s needs and wants are met.  When he isn’t driving around the Metro area estimating, there’s a good chance you’ll pass him while he’s on his road bike.  Dave lives in Stillwater and is the proud father of three children.

Tyler Jacobson:  Foreman/Certified Arborist

Tyler is Dave’s oldest son, his middle child.  Tyler started working with his Dad before he had to start shaving.  He started dragging brush and raking yards when he was 12 as a summer job to pay for his growing baseball card collection.  Tyler went to college at the University of Minnesota and is an ISA (International Society of Arboriculture) Certified Arborist and Certified Pesticide Applicator through the Minnesota Department of Agiculture.  Tyler’s responsibilities include everything from job site foreman to climbing to estimating.  When Tyler doesn’t have a chainsaw in his hands, he likely has a golf club...which is much more dangerous than any chainsaw.

Jenny Peterson:  Office Manager

Jenny is the oldest of Dave’s three children.  She graduated from the University of Nebraska and started working in the family business in June of 2008.  Jenny’s key responsibilities range from answering the phones, bookkeeping, to coordinating daily work itinerary.  Her thoroughness and work ethic are extremely critical in our detailed oriented business model, she’s the glue that makes Woodchuck both extremely efficient and successful.  When Jenny is away from the office, it’s a safe bet that she’s playing a round of golf with a PGA professional, her husband.
